She returned to France and studied at the universities of Rouen and Bordeaux before becoming a teacher and receiving a master’s degree in modern literature in 1971. Annie spent some time working on an unfinished thesis project about Pierre de Marivaux.
She began her teaching career in the early 1970s at a lycée in Bonneville, Haute-Savoie, then at the Évire College in Annecy-le-Vieux, then in Pontoise, before joining the National Centre for Distance Education (CNED), where she remained for the next 23 years. She will be 82 years old in 2023.
