The Richland County Sheriff’s Office charged five prisoners with murder conspiracy in connection with Antonius Randolph’s passing on January 3, 2023.
On January 26, 2023, Antonius passed away in handcuffs at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center after allegations of several robberies and a spate of serial rapes in the Northeast Columbia region.
Investigators had already served two additional warrants for first-degree murder, kidnapping, and criminal sexual conduct when the rapist passed away.

The inmate’s death from extreme dehydration in February 2022 was ruled a homicide by coroner Naida Rutherford because jail employees had not started hydration therapy or given him adequate food and liquids before he passed away. The 27-year-old prisoner had been incarcerated for some time and was being housed in a solitary cell.
