Arne Freundt has been named as Puma’s new CEO as the German brand gets ready for the next phase of its history. Bjrn Gulden, who has worked for Puma since 2013, is succeeded as CEO by Arne.

In November 2022, Arne Freundt will become the new CEO of Puma SE. Additionally, Freundt was appointed head of the Management Board of the Supervisory Board. He has accepted a four-year contract from the German label, which will start on January 1, 2023. Since June 2021, Freundt has held the position of Chief Commercial Officer on the Management Board.
In 1980, Freundt was born in Germany. He started his career in March 2005 and worked as a Senior Project Manager at Siemens Advanta Consulting for six years, until June 2011. Arne Freundt joined the Global Director Strategy team at Puma in July 2011 and has been employed there since since.
He held the position of Global Director of Retail and E-commerce from January 2015 until December 2018. He served as the General Manager of EMEA from January 2019 to May 2021.
After being hired as Chief Commercial Officer in 2021, he was recently promoted to CEO. His academic career has been outstanding, and he attended both the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management and the EM Strasbourg Business School.
What does everyone hope to hear from Arne Freundt, the head of the German label?
Everyone is interested in Freundt’s new position and is quite optimistic about him. The Supervisory Board’s Chair, Hélodie Temple-Boyer, commented on Arne’s new role as follows:
With Arne Freundt taking over as CEO, the company now has a respected leader. Previously, Arne was in charge of the Global Direct-to-Consumer division and Corporate Strategy. After it was announced that Bjrn Gulden will become CEO of Adidas on January 1, 2023, Freundt was named CEO with immediate effect by the supervisory board.
