Authorities in Arkansas have detained Ashley Roland and Nathan Bridges, two adults, in relation to a child who was discovered buried beneath a house.
Bridges, 33, and Roland, 28, have been detained and accused with murder in the first degree. Along with jeopardizing the welfare of a youngster, they are also accused of tampering with physical evidence and mistreating a corpse.
The 6-year-old who passed away had a mother named Roland. Who Bridges is has not yet been established.
The boy’s body was discovered under a hallway floor of a Lee County, Arkansas residence this week, according to the Arkansas State Police. The youngster was reportedly six years old when he was discovered on Friday, December 16.
Police think the youngster died from wounds he presumably received in the house three months prior. The state medical examiner has received the boy’s body in order to ascertain how and why he died.
Around 10:45 p.m. on Friday, Lee County sheriff’s deputies summoned special agents from the ASP Criminal Investigation Division to the residence in the Moro neighborhood west of Marianna.
According to KAIT, the investigators are also looking into a 6-year-old girl who lived in the same residence who has scalp burns. The girl is now in stable condition after being transferred to a hospital in Memphis for treatment.
According to the State Police, Nathan Bridges and Ashley Roland, the mother of the two kids, have been arrested and are being held at the Lee County Jail.
Roland and Bridges have been detained on suspicion of capital murder, tampering with physical evidence, misuse of a corpse, and endangering the welfare of a youngster, according to the authorities.
It is also unknown how the two criminals are related or what motivated them to commit the terrible atrocity.
