August Alsina revealed in 2017 that he has a serious autoimmune condition that targets his liver. The hereditary disorder has caused a number of occurrences, including a stage collapse in 2014.

In a contentious Red Table Talk session from 2017, he spoke up about his sickness with Jada Pinkett Smith, with whom he had become “entangled.”

He explained that autoimmune disorders run in his family. The Song Cry singer was heard saying in the video: “After we sat down and discussed, my dad’s mother and sister confessed that illness and disease run in my family. My grandfather’s and my father’s deaths were caused by significant diseases.

On July 8, 2019, he gave fresh health updates. In a video posted on Instagram, the rapper said he was hospitalized because of a lack of mobility.

Alpha-1 antitrypsin (AAT) deficiency, hemochromatosis, and Wilson disease are examples of genetic liver diseases. These are caused by a deficiency in AAT protein, an excess of iron, or an accumulation of copper, respectively.

These illnesses not only affect the liver but also other organs, and they may result in a number of consequences. Fatigue, discomfort in the stomach or joints, loss of libido, fibrosis, and cirrhosis are a few of the symptoms that might occur.
