Career
Haque taught at Dhaka’s Boro Katara Madrasah from 1946 to 1952. Until 1985, he taught Sahih al-Bukhari and other Islamic texts at Jamia Qurania Arabia, Lalbagh. He helped establish the Bangladesh Qawmi Madrasah Education Board in 1978, eventually becoming its general secretary. As a visiting professor at the University of Dhaka’s Department of Islamic Studies in 1979, he taught Sahih al-Bukhari for three years.
He was the Amir of the Islami Oikya Jote and the Khelafat Majlish of Bangladesh. In 1992, he attended the National Press Club of Bangladesh’s launch of Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami Bangladesh.
He was also the chairman of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited’s Shari’ah Board.
