He joined him as a producer, arranger, and composer after Park founded JYP Entertainment. One of their first triumphs was “g.o.d,” a band from the first generation. Instruments and music for The g.o.d’s debut album “Chapter 1” were created by Bang. Bang has arranged two of g.o.d’s most well-known songs, “One Candle” and “Road.” At this point, he started using the stage name “Hitman.”

In addition to g.o.d, he has collaborated with a variety of artists, including veteran singers Im Chang-Jung and Park Ji-Yoon, singer-actor Rain, groups Wonder Girls, 2 AM, and Teen Top, and R&B singer Baek Ji-young. He disbanded JYP Entertainment in 2005 to launch Big Hit Entertainment, his own company.

Bang Si-Hyuk continued there to write, compose, and produce for Big Hit artists. He co-wrote six songs for BTS’ critically praised “Wings” album from 2016.

He was on the cover of the April 2022 edition of Time alongside BTS.

Later the same month, he was awarded an honorary doctorate in business from Seoul National University (SNU) in appreciation of his “contribution to the development and innovation of the country’s cultural and entertainment industry” and for his “role in making K-pop into a global pop music culture.” He is the first person in the entertainment sector to be given such a distinction.
