So far, the reality show has aired eight seasons and 213 episodes, with the most recent season premiering on Paramount Network on May 2, 2021.

However, over the years, the show has received as many criticisms and allegations as it has praises.

In terms of criticisms and allegations, audiences across the country and abroad frequently wonder if the show is scripted.

Other searches on the internet include “How real is Bar Rescue?” “Does Bar Rescue have a script?” as well as “How does Bar Rescue make money?”

Is ‘Bar Rescue’ real or a spoof? Discussion among Fans

Viewers have repeatedly discussed the show and whether it is staged on public discussion platforms such as Quora, Reddit, and Twitter.

“I’m just curious where the show’s fake/real line is. “Does anyone know for certain what is real and what is fake in each episode?” Someone on Reddit inquired.

“In one interview with Taffer (which I can’t find), he stated that they’d install cameras at 2-3 locations in an area, and they’d film for a week or so before doing the big reveal,” another added. He also stated that “after the first day, the staff completely forgot about them.”

“Are some of the situations fabricated and imposed?” Okay, fine. You are not a moron. Of course they are,” a user who has previously worked on the show’s production wrote in another Reddit thread.

He wrote that while claiming that the show did its best to be as authentic as possible. When they couldn’t find bars to rescue on their own, they accepted offers from bars for a visit and promoted the specific location.

“What many people fail to realize is that “reality television” is actually unscripted television,” wrote one Quora user. This means that there is a production element when the cameras roll, unlike iPhone or home videos.”

“That doesn’t mean it’s a forgery.” The cameras can only record what actually occurs, not what does not. Music is added to heighten the drama, and the video is edited down to fit the story into less than an hour. Is this real life? Certainly not entirely. Is it, however, staged? “Not at all,” the user concluded.

The ‘Bar Rescue’ Filming Schedule Is Tight

A report by Mashed stated similar facts while adding that the show’s filming is quite intense.

According to the publication, when the bar agrees to appear on the show, things move quickly, and life for the crew and production becomes hectic.

Taffer reportedly spends five days evaluating the bar being redone and scouting competing bars before completing a bar rescue.

Furthermore, each day is a 12-hour shoot, with the second day being the most crazy because the host yells at the bar owners and tells them what a bad job they’re doing.

The Last Word

Even though the reality show Bar Rescue has been accused of forgery, it is impossible to say that the show is entirely scripted.

However, the show does occasionally plan things in order to manage the ratings and finances, just like any other reality show.

Furthermore, by the end of Season 8, the show had reportedly attempted to assist 201 bars, of which 101 remained open, 89 closed, and 11 were for sale.
