Bekka Allick is a collegiate volleyball player from the United States. Colleen Ziegelbein and Melvin Allick are her parents. Bekka and her five siblings grew up fighting after being born in Texas to athletic parents.
Her mother, Colleen, was a basketball player at Northwest Missouri State. Melvin, who works for the Texas Department of Public Safety, was a swimmer at UNLV as well. Allick is a middle blocker for the Cornhuskers and a University of Nebraska business management student.
Meanwhile, her parents have been a constant source of advice and encouragement, which she believes will be crucial in her future endeavors. Bekka Allick, a University of Nebraska student, began her athletic career with VC Nebraska. Aside from that, she played high school volleyball for two years at two different schools, Waverly and Lincoln Star.
She once led her team, the VC Nebraska, to a national championship. She was also a member of the US U-18 girls’ squad, which competed in the FIVB U18 World Championship in 2021. Her senior high school performance also earned her the Nebraska Gatorade Player of the Year Award in 2022.

Colleen Ziegelbein and Melvin Allick gave birth to Bekka Allick on January 26, 2004, in Texas, United States. Her parents had six children, one of whom was Bekka. Colleen and Melvin split when Bekka was young, and she relocated to Lincoln, Nebraska, to live with her stepfather.
Melvin, Bekka’s biological father, grew up in Texas and graduated from James Madison High School. He went on to study General Studies and swim at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Later, he attended several universities and earned degrees in a number of subjects, including vocational education from Wayland Baptist University and a Master’s in Public Affairs from Texas’ LBJ School of Public Affairs.
He currently resides in Texas and has been engaged as a Trooper Training Academic Lieutenant for nearly three years. Her mother, Colleen Ziegelbein, is from College Springs, Iowa. After high school, she attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, where she got a degree in psychology. Colleen has been teaching special education since 2013. She currently resides in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Bekka’s Stepfather Bill Passed Away in 2013
Bekka Allick’s mother, Colleen Allick, married Bill Ziegelbein of Lincoln in 2013 after divorcing her former husband, Melvin, in 2011. Unfortunately, he died only two years later in a motorcycle accident. Bill and Colleen were engaged in a motorbike accident at White River, South Dakota, during the Sturgis motorcycle festival, according to the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
According to the same report, Bill lost control of the automobile, veered off the road, and collided with a roadside post. To make matters worse, neither man was wearing a helmet. Colleen was critically injured, and Bill died at the scene. Fortunately, she survived, and she is now the mother of eight children, six of her own and two from Bill’s previous relationship.
Bill Ziegelbein was a former collegiate football player from Polk. He appeared in 24 games for the Nebraska Cornhuskers from 1987 to 1991. Bill died when he was 44 years old.
