Lagow, a freshman, displayed unprecedented energy on the lacrosse field, leaving an indelible mark on the school. In 2023, Ben Lagow became a famous first-year member of the Hampden-Sydney College Tigers. Ben, a Norfolk Academy alumnus, was a standout student-athlete in high school.
His diverse potential shone through as a member of the Soccer, Swim, and Lacrosse teams, exhibiting not just skill but also a great work ethic. Ben’s soccer ability earned him a berth on the TCIS (Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools) Second Team.
His lacrosse accomplishments are equally impressive, with First-Team All-Prep League and All-TCIS awards highlighting his exceptional ability and dedication to the sport. Ben was also chosen Second-Team All-State in lacrosse, confirming his statewide reputation as a top-tier player.
Ben Lagow Obituary And Cause Of Death
We regret to inform you of the passing of Ben Lagow, who left us much too soon at the age of 20. Ben died on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, leaving a void in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him. Only a few days later, on December 29, did information of Ben’s untimely death begin to emerge, casting a pall over his friends, family, and the community at large.
Ben Lagow died as a consequence of an asthma attack, underlining the unpredictability of life’s twists and turns. In Ben’s honor, a memorial service will be held at noon on Sunday, December 31, 2023. This heartbreaking event will be held at Ohef Sholom Temple, located at 530 Raleigh Avenue in Norfolk.
Those who knew Ben will be able to gather, share memories, and find solace in each other’s company at this difficult time. Since Ben’s death was announced, an outpouring of grief has overwhelmed the circles of friends and family he touched. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing him was saddened by his demise.

When it came to sports, Ben was a die-hard New England Patriots fan. He also actively supported the Boston Celtics and Boston Red Sox, exhibiting his unwavering loyalty to his hometown teams. Jayson Tatum and Grant Williams were among the professional athletes he respected for their ability in their respective sports.
