Benjie is a professional comedian and actor. Benjie is also a former professional basketball player and a coach. Paras played for the Shell Turbo Chargers and the San Miguel Beermen in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).Shell Turbo Chargers drafted Paras in 1989.

Despite not winning a championship that year, Paras was named Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player (MVP). In 1999, he was named MVP for the second time.
