Wilson County authorities found 14-year-old Bernard Williams dead in a ditch along Landfill Road on Sunday morning. The suspect was arrested for murder. A 14-year-old was discovered dead in a ditch by Wilson County cops on Sunday. The sheriff’s office is investigating a possible murder. At 9:16 am, deputies found Bernard Williams on Landfill Road near U.S. Highway 264 Alternate East.

When deputies and EMS arrived, Williams was declared dead. Rasheem TyTavious Battle was arrested by the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.

Crystal Harris, Williams’ mother, said she couldn’t stop thinking about it. Harris anticipated he would never attend a prom. I’ll never see his wedding or first kid. Harris stated her kid was called “Tankman”.
Harris said her son was “sweet, he knew a lot of people, he was friendly, and he made friends easily.” He enjoyed joking. He liked being a clown, making jokes, and giving you adorable nicknames.
The sheriff’s office has not announced a death caused by Monday night. “Why me?” Harris asked. Seven months ago, I lost my dad. I was in the same situation again. Just wondering why. Why would someone hurt my son? He was a good child. Williams’ family is planning a Thursday night vigil and balloon release. Harris said, “He was very loved, and I just couldn’t see anyone wanting to harm him.”
The struggle was prosecuted for the first-degree murder of Bernard Dionysus Williams of Kent Road after being transported from Wilson County Detention Center. The Daniels Learning Center student Williams was called “Tankman.”
Three sheriff’s officers handcuffed the battle as Chief District Judge William C. Farris read the allegations. The battle was advised by Farris that a court-appointed counsel would defend him.
The battle is still in Wilson County Detention Facility without bail. The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office chief of staff, Wanda Samuel, confirmed he was detained Monday. The event is under investigation. For information, call the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office at 252-237-2118.
