Bill Laimbeer was a professional basketball player and coach from the United States. On May 19, 1957, he was born in Boston, Massachusetts.
Laimbeer played collegiate basketball for the University of Notre Dame from 1975 to 1979 before being chosen by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the third round of the 1979 NBA Draft.
For the Detroit Pistons from 1982 until 1994, Laimbeer played center and power forward, which is what people most often recall about him.
He was a key member of the “Bad Boys” Pistons squads that won back-to-back NBA championships in 1989 and 1990.
