When paying Pearl respects, his wife kept the cause of her death a secret. She did however clarify that he had succumbed to his Parkinson’s disease. He received a diagnosis for the disease in 2016.
In addition, the bodybuilder was hurt in a mower accident in April 2022 when the mower fell on top of him. His Facebook page also posted news of the incident. He suffered a compression fracture on his T-10 vertebrae as well as a few other problems as a result of the incident. But a few days later, a neck fracture was found.

Bill Pearl, who was born on October 31st, 1930, enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed at the Naval Air Station in San Diego.
He first met Pearl’s mentor and fellow bodybuilder, Leo Stern, in the gym where he used to exercise. In 1952, Pearl took part in two local competitions, and in 1953, she competed in four, winning both. Even Mr. America and Mr. Universe have been crowned by him.
He participated in 11 different competitions from 1956 to 1971, taking home nine victories. After defeating bodybuilders like Frank Zane, Reg Park, Dave Draper, and Sergio Oliva, Bill became well-known. He gave posing and strongman performances in a number of countries. He would break shackles, bend tent spikes, blow up hot water bottles, and rip license plates as part of his strongman acts.
When he was 39 years old, he turned vegetarian and managed two gyms in California. He once consumed dairy products and eggs, and he wrote about the benefits of doing so in his book, Getting Stronger: Weight Training for Sports.
Keys To The Inner Universe was Pearl’s second book after Getting Stronger: Weight Training for Men and Women. His question-and-answer articles in the bodybuilding magazines MuscleMag International and Muscle Builder came next.
Beyond the Universe: The Bill Pearl Story, their autobiography, was published in 2003 with assistance from Kim Shott. He served as a mentor and instructor to many professionals in the 1980s, and in 2004 he received the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Lifetime Achievement Award. He was a subject of the 2011 film Challenging Impossibility.
