Since beginning to compete professionally in 2009, William John Horschel, also known as Billy, has overcome numerous challenges. Even though he had to overcome obstacles like a crippling wrist injury that prevented him from competing on the PGA Tour in 2010, he showed remarkable skill and perseverance by earning his tour card back through qualification school later that year.
He continued to show great promise in the following years, making cuts on multiple PGA Tour starts, including the Mayakoba Golf Classic, where he finally succeeded after eleven tries. His conditional status was somewhat granted by his accomplishments before important seasons like those in 2012. Mr. Horschel is still unquestionably one of the best players in professional golf today, having gained widespread recognition in the game for his talent and dedication to the game!
The Billy Horschel Family

For Billy Horschel, family support is crucial. His family is a close-knit group that cheers him on at every turn. His mother Kathy was a nurse until retirement, and his father Bill is a retired firefighter. Like their older brother, whom they greatly respect, the youngest siblings, Brandon and Hunter, are also avid golfers.
Billy has received constant support ever since he decided to become a professional golfer. That’s why, when he won his first-ever PGA Tour title in 2013, his heart skipped a beat since six members of his immediate family—including his grandmother—were there to witness the historic event. Naturally, this energetic golfer also treasures his wife’s family, which supports him both on and off the golf course. All of what he has accomplished has been made possible by his extended family, whether it was by gentle care or inspiration.
Brittany, Billy Horschel’s wife
In the cutthroat realm of professional golf, there is a charming tale of love between Billy Horschel and Brittany Nelson, his college sweetheart who later became his wife. Their chance encounter at Florida University during their pursuit of golf goals began a friendship that has only become more resilient in the face of hardship. One such difficulty was Brittney’s battle with alcoholism, which started years ago but she overcame with great perseverance to get sober in May 2016.
From playing on the greens of prestigious golf tournaments like the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship to seeking thrills hiking a quiet oasis at Aspen, they have raised three children and made priceless memories since then. Their path has been open to their devoted fans, who get to see snippets of their lovely family life through social media posts that feature commonplace incidents that represent love, resiliency, and hope for people who support them both openly or as fans of this wonderful sport.
Children of Billy Horschel
Billy Horschel is an adoring father in addition to a professional golfer. He is comforted by the happiness of his three lovely children, Skylar Lillian (2014), Colbie Rae (2017), and Axel Brooks (2019). His wife Brittany has been vocal about her battles with addiction and has used their platform to support others going through similar difficulties.
The value of family values is clear in this home as they persevere through life’s challenges as a unit. As loving parents, Billy and Brittany have a strong bond based on raising their three children and experiencing success on the golf course together through both good and terrible times!
