Who was Bison Dele?

Bison Dele was a professional basketball player. He used to play as a center in NBA’s club including Orlando Magic, Denver Nuggets, Los Angles Clippers, Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons.

Bison was born on April 6, 1969, in Fresno, California, America. Dele is believed to be killed by the hands of his older brother  Miles Dabord in 2002.

Dele was the second son to Patricia Phillips and singer Eugene “Geno” Williams Jr. of the musical group The Platters. His parents parted ways when bison was in high school and was raised by his mother Patricia who remarried later and raised her two sons.

Bison attended Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. He later joined Saint Monica Catholic High School in Santa Monica, California where his jersey is retired. His career in basketball began at the University of Maryland, where he played for a year before transferring to the University of Arizona.

Bison Dele Professional Career

Dele started by being the first pick in the first round of the 1991 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic after playing two seasons at Arizona.

During 1993–94, dele had averaged 8.0 points per game and played a career-high 80 games. After Orlando days, he joined the Los Angeles Clippers with averaging 15.8 points per game and earning increasing income. In the year 1990-97, dele was not in any team and was sitting out most of the seasons due to a contract dispute for asking a high price.

Later, Bison was signed by the Chicago Bulls nine games before the end of the season, making him the best backup player as they won the fifth championship.

In 1997–98, he played two seasons with the Detroit Pistons and set career highs of 8.9 rebounds per game with 16.2 points.

Bison suddenly announced his retirement at age 30 during his prime, before the start of the 1999–2000 season. He was the Pistons’ highest-paid player.

Bison was reportedly going missing along with his girlfriend Serena Kerlan, older brother Miles Dabord and skipper Bertrand Saldo who went for a holiday sail in the pacific ocean and since that day nobody heard from them.

It was found later on September 5, 2002, his older brother had forged Dele sign to buy $152,000 worth of gold under bison’s name using a passport as identification.

However it was found later, Karlen was dead by accidentally hitting her head in the boat and Dele killed Saldo in panic. At last, Dabord was the one who shot his younger brother in self-defense, all the dead bodies were thrown overboard and he fled back to the US.
