Robert Patrick Petrino is an American football coach who is presently the offensive coordinator for the Arkansas Razorbacks. While growing up in Helene, he attended Carroll College and graduated from Capital High School. He was a quarterback for the Carroll Fighting Saints before becoming a graduate assistant under his father. Furthermore, he has coached his collegiate teams to nine bowl games and six AP top-25 finishes during his coaching tenure.

Bobby Petrino’s Salary, Contract, and Earnings

His previous coaching experience went unnoticed. Bobby rose to notoriety after signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League in 1999. After two seasons with the Jaguars and a stint with Auburn (OC), he joined Louisville as head coach, earning almost $1 million per year.

Later, as part of a 10-year/$25.6 million contract deal, the head coach earned a $600,000 boost in his previous salary in 2006. Petrino, on the other hand, accepted a head coaching position and a five-year/$24 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons less than six months into his new deal. Bobby left the Falcons after only thirteen games.

He subsequently negotiated a five-year, $2.85 million-per-year deal with Arkansas, which was then extended to seven years before signing. His contract, however, was terminated owing to an adulterous relationship with an athletic department staffer. Following that, he signed a four-year contract with Western Kentucky, with an annual base salary of $850,000 and a $1.2 million guarantee.

Petrino was transferred to Louisville for the second time. He was offered $24.5 million over seven years with a $10 million buyout clause this time. Following his time at Louisville, he signed a five-year deal at Missouri State that paid him $250,000 each year. Petrino earned a one-year contract extension and a $25,000 raise shortly after making the playoffs.

The football coach left Missouri State after only one season to become the offensive coordinator at UNLV. The newly recruited UNLV offensive coordinator, on the other hand, swiftly joined Texas A&M. Arkansas announced the return of its former coach, Bobby Petrino, as offensive coordinator on November 29, 2023.
