Nessler began his career as an expert journalist by sharing with Al Ciraldo the play-by-play radio capabilities of Georgia Tech basketball on WGST-AM from 1980-81 to 1984-85 and then controlled the game through sport for the Atlanta Falcons on WGST and WSB-AM from 1982 to 1988 before taking on the same role for the Minnesota Vikings at some point in 1988 and 1989.

He worked for CBS Sports from 1990 to 1991, calling NFL games, college football, and even college basketball. Nessler began his career with ESPN in 1992, covering school basketball games, Big Ten and Thursday night soccer games, as well as long Bradley Nessler sports assignments. In 1997, his voice was incorporated into an EA Sports game called NCAA March Insanity.

Previously, in May 2011, Nessler may have been hired by the NFL Network to produce Thursday nighttime football telecasts, after which he may have collaborated with investigator Mike Mayock on an eight-game package.
