Brandon Burlsworth was born and raised in Harrison, Arkansas. Despite his exceptional football prowess in high school, he was not extended any scholarship offers from prestigious universities.
Burlsworth yearned to play for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks, despite this. So, he volunteered to walk-on for the Razorbacks football team in 1994.
At 300 pounds, Burlsworth was initially overweight for his position. But over the subsequent two years, he underwent a physical transformation, reducing weight and gaining muscle.

A car tragedy resulted in Brandon’s death on April 28, 1999. Only eleven days had passed since his entry into the NFL draft.
The incident occurred in the vicinity of Alpena, Arkansas. He had returned to his birthplace of Harrison in his vehicle.
Previously, he had exercised in Fayetteville. His automobile collided with an 18-wheeler lorry. Following that, his vehicle swerved back into the lane.
It then collided head-on with a second tractor-trailer. The section of road where the collision occurred was not particularly hazardous.
According to the accident report, Burlsworth’s vehicle unexpectedly crossed the center line.
His vehicle initially sideswiped a lorry. It then recrossed the intersection and collided head-on with the other vehicle. Burlsworth lost his life instantly.
