How did Brandt Jobe start his Professional Career?

While at UCLA, Brandt Jobe was a member of the 1988 NCAA Division I Men’s Championship team. He began his professional career the same year. In 1990, he dominated the Canadian Tour order of merit.

Furthermore, he qualifies for the PGA Tour through Qualifying School in 1991 but only makes five cuts that year. During one of his few uneven seasons, he won the Asia Golf Circuit Order of Merit in 1995. He also makes his mark on the Japan Golf Tour, where he wins six events between 1995 and 1999.

In September 1999, Brandt Jobe returned to the PGA Tour as a special temporary member. Despite a strange accident in his garage, he has continued to play daily. After slicing his hand and damaging three fingers with a shattered push broom in 2003, he underwent major hand and wrist surgery.

He has never won an event on the PGA Tour, although he has tied for second four times, including twice in 2005 while participating on a major medical exemption.

He finished 30th on the Nationwide Tour in 2010, but that wasn’t enough to gain him a PGA Tour card. Despite this, he was exempted from the final level of Q School, where he finished sixth and received his 2011 card.

He finished one stroke behind Steve Stricker in a tie for second place at the Memorial Tournament in June 2011, his best result in six years.

After winning the Champions Tour qualifying school in 2016, he secured a spot on the Champions Tour. On June 11, 2017, he won his first Champions Tour competition with a 14-under-par 202 at the Principal Charity Classic. He also won his second PGA Tour Champions title at the Boeing Classic.
