One of them, Jenni, was quite successful in her singing and other pursuits. In addition, she is a thriving businesswoman, television producer, public speaker, and philanthropist. While Jenni has managed to preserve the Rivera Family name, Juan has not been as successful. He was detained numerous times and served 20 years in jail.
Brenda, Juan Rivera’s wife, and His Scandals
When Juan was 17 years old in February 1995, he was detained for possessing drugs. He suffered a horrific incarceration experience, which led to his suicidal thoughts. He saw some horrifying things, like the dehumanization of captives. To humiliate and degrade the prisoners, the cooks, for instance, spit and urinated on food.
The singer contemplated suicide because it was tough for him to survive in such a setting. He managed to gather himself, though, and make the best of things. He put a lot of effort into his studies and received his high school diploma. After that, Juan graduated from the University of California, Long Beach with a degree in communication sciences.
A few years after being freed from prison, he was detained once more. This time, he was sentenced to two decades in prison for carrying a gun without a permit. As a result of all the tragedies and confusion in his life, Juan battled alcoholism. The musician started drinking when he was 15 and knew he had an addiction by the time he was 30.
Regardless, the singer was always joined by his wife Brenda while he was both inside and outside of jail. His wife is referred to as “the woman who altered his life” Juan.
When Brenda first met the singer, she was just 17 years old. Since then, Brenda has improved the singer’s life. A mere six months after they started dating and a few days before Juan was jailed, Brenda became pregnant with their first child.
For the first few years of their partnership, it was difficult, but they persisted. Instead, they dealt with it, and Juan improved as Brenda’s partner as a result. Following more than 20 years of dating, the couple was married in 2017. Only close friends and family were present at the magnificent wedding, which was small and private.
Pedro, the singer’s older brother, officiated the ceremony as the couple exchanged emotional vows and tears of joy during the golden hour. With their four kids, the couple is currently content in California. Juan is working to uphold his sister’s legacy while focusing on his musical career.
