Bret Baier, the chief political anchor, has been married to Amy since October 2004. They have been married for more than 18 years and are still going strong. Their lovely love story shines through on social media.
Bret, in fact, wished his wife a happy 15th anniversary on Twitter. The anchor made a nice comment about his wife, referring to her as a beautiful woman and thanking her for the “amazing journey.”

Bret Baier met his wife Amy in what way?
Bret met his future wife Amy on a blind date set up by a mutual acquaintance. Amy reportedly traveled to Chicago to meet Bret for their romantic night, after which they attended a Rolling Stones concert together.
And, as expected, Bret and Amy hit it off right away, and a few years later they married in a romantic wedding ceremony.
Bret Baier’s Children with His Wife: Due to a birth defect, his first son had open heart surgery.
Bret and his wife have two children, both sons. Paul Francis Baier, their first child, was born in 2007, and Daniel Baier, their second child, was born in 2010.
Unfortunately, their first child was born with a significant cardiac abnormality that was detected during an echo cardiogram. He had an irregular heartbeat, two holes in his heart, and three congenital abnormalities, according to the physicians.
Brat’s partner Amy revealed the scenario to the Today Show in 2014 during an interview. She explained,
“A doctor told us Paul’s heart was extremely complex. Blood was flowing the wrong way, Paul’s walnut-sized heart had two holes, and he had three other congenital defects.” Paul would not have survived if he had not undergone complicated surgery to rebuild his heart.
Paul’s surgery took place two weeks later in Australia and lasted ten hours. Fortunately, the procedure was successful; nevertheless, the infant will still require a few more surgeries after Paul reaches the age of two.
Bret documented his son’s ordeal in his book “Special Heart: A Journey of Faith, Hope, Courage, and Love.”
Bret authored the book “Special Heart: A Journey of Faith, Hope, Courage, and Love” to explain Paul’s suffering.
Bret also mentioned in his 2014 book that 40,000 children are born with one or more types of cardiac defects. Bret explained the situation to Today, saying,
“It’s a powerful thing, and we hope to raise awareness about what people can do to get through it: one, accept help from family and friends; two, make sure you’re healthy because you’re not good for anyone if you’re not healthy; and three, consider the other side of the story.” Consider what it’s like to reach the light at the end of the tunnel. “(Paul) is doing fantastic!”
The Vice-Chair of the Children’s National Hospital Foundation is Bret Baier’s wife.
Bret Baier’s wife Amy is the vice-chair of the Children’s National Medical Center Children’s Hospital Foundation as of 2022.
In fact, Amy’s son Paul was also treated there in 2014. Bret and Amy were even recognized by the Children’s National Hospital organization for their charitable contributions to the organization.
Amy also assisted the foundation in establishing the Paul Francis Baier Comprehensive Media Room. It enables professionals all across the world to gain access to diagnostic images and further investigate numerous complex medical issues.
Amy also assists with the organization of the annual Children’s Ball, which raises funds. The 2014 ball raised $10.8 million on its own.
Bret and his family were involved in a serious car accident in Montana.
Bret and his family were traveling to Montana in January 2019 when they were involved in a tragic accident. Their SUV apparently lost control after hitting an ice patch and drifted into the path of a pickup truck approaching from the opposite direction.
Following the collision, the automobile careened into a ditch and flipped sideways. Bret and his family were uninjured, as fortunate as it may sound.
Later in the Special Report episode, Bret thanked the emergency services and the Montana Highway Patrol for their rapid response at the time of the collision.
“We are grateful to everyone who assisted us. Everyone should always wear their seatbelts and acknowledge their blessings every day, in my opinion. I tweeted this as we were leaving the hospital, bruised but alive. ‘Don’t take anything for granted; every day is a gift, and family is everything. It’s always a good idea to remind yourself of that before allowing something to do it for you.”
Amy and her husband Bret possessed a $3.2 million home in Washington, DC.
The Baires lived in the Berkley section of Washington, DC, in a custom-built Jim Gibson home. They built the house in March 2009 for $3.2 million and sold it in 2013 for $3.5 million.
Ralph Lauren primarily furnished the residence, which has one master bedroom, two bathrooms, a gym area, a nursery, and a playroom.
The property also boasts a three-car garage, a wine cellar, a library, and a living room with a unique bar.
Amy told the Washington Post about the residence in 2009:
“I just loved the look every time I walked into a Ralph Lauren store.” I wanted to reproduce that for our house, and I think our builder said to himself, ‘This young couple is mad.’ However, we did not want a bar in the basement. “We wanted to put it somewhere where we could use it with our friends.”
Amy and Bret were believed to be residing in a Georgetown condo in 2012.
