His marriage to her produced two sons: Orson Jonathan Cox and Torin Kamran Cox. Previously, he was married to Caroline Burt, with whom he has two older children. Their names are Margaret and Alan Cox.

Regarding his first marriage, the actor married at the age of 24, which he considers being “far too young” for marriage. He did, however, explain why he married Burt despite knowing he was too young in his memoir Putting the Rabbit in the Hat, which was published in October 2021.
After a difficult childhood, he stated that he desired stability and “normalcy” in his life.
That is a different story, but to cut a long story short, he witnessed his father’s death when he was eight years old, and his mother is in the hospital following a mental breakdown.
“I craved the normalcy of a home and a family,” Cox said.
The Scottish actor and Burt divorced after 18 years of marriage and two children. He also admitted in his memoir that he struggled with parenthood during his first marriage because his job required him to be away from home for long periods of time.

Furthermore, in his previously mentioned memoir, the Oscar winner addressed the subject. He stated at first that he married a young woman in her 50s because he was “better prepared” for fatherhood.
“I’ve tried to make amends for everything that has happened in the past with our two sons. My career does not always take precedence these days. “Perhaps I was better prepared the second time,”
He explained.
Cox then suggested that the couple’s age didn’t matter because “Love is love,” and Ansari was (and still is) his life’s love. Cox and Ansari are said to have been together since 1990 when they met in Hamburg. The actor was starring in King Lear at the time. They started dating in 1998, and she moved to London a year later to be with him. The rest, as they say, is history.
