American country singing duo Florida Georgie Line recently announced their divorce. Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, the Grammy-nominated pair, gave their final concert on August 31 before calling it quits.
Where did Kelley and Hubbard give their farewell performance as Florida Georgia Line? at the State Fair of Minnesota.
Throughout the grandstand performance, the two allegedly exchanged high fives and brotherly grins. The two have already stated that they will each pursue their careers. There are, however, speculations that the couple is divorcing because of opposing political ideologies.
Hubbard was quoted as stating by The Star Tribune of Minnesota:
This is the last show we’ll be doing as Florida Georgia Line. Let’s check the tank’s fuel level first.
Additionally, he added:
We appreciate your support in allowing us to live out our crazy goal of writing music and playing it live in the hope that someone would stop by to listen.
We find it extremely exciting to look ahead and see what is in store. We want to share this chapter with you even though the next one is exciting.
Florida Georgia Line made their sabbatical announcement in February.
In February, Georgie Line made clear that they would be taking a break. Florida native Kelley and Georgia native Hubbard announced that they would be taking a break from making music. According to the band, they are not breaking up but rather continuing to pursue their artistic goals. At the time, Kelly stated:
We started writing alone and collaborating with other authors a few years ago, and now we’re both doing the same with our music.
The musicians also held different political views and have previously spoken out about them.
The two publicly disagreed on their separate positions during the 2020 US presidential elections. Tyler Hubbard and his wife Hayley endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris and President Biden, while Kelley suggested that he supported President Trump. To avoid seeing Kelley’s posts about the election, they also unfollowed him on Instagram.
In November, Hubbard reportedly said as quoted by SiriusXM Exit 209:
“When the election and other events were taking place and we were in the middle of it, I temporarily stopped following BK. I even got in touch with him to tell him, “Hey friend, I love you,” And in person, I adore you far more than I do right now on your Stories. Therefore, I am unfollowing you. Not on a personal level. I continue to love you. You are still my brother,’
