Pizza deliveryman Brian Wells stole a PNC Bank in Pennsylvania on August 28, 2003. The collar bomb was pressed onto the guy. He died when the explosive collar around his neck exploded. It was discovered after considerable inquiry that it was a premeditated heist and murder. In 2007, pizza deliveryman Brian Wells was murdered, and four of them were accused of it.
Investigators concluded that he was ready to take part in the heist but thought the bomb was phony. Wells’ family said that the conspirators coerced him into the heist at the same time. The pizza bomber case, also known as the collar bomb incident, received extensive media notice, including treatment in the 2018 Netflix series Evil Genius.

One of the case’s organizers, Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong plotted the whole heist and murder of Brain Wells. Barnes should murder her father, according to Diehl-Armstrong, so she may inherit his estate. For $250,000, Barnes agreed to do it.
They planned the collar bomb-bank robbery specifically to kill her father; they considered giving the heist proceeds to someone else while carrying out the murder. Diehl-Armstrong’s participation in the collar bomb-bank robbery conspiracy and the murder of the pizza delivery guy resulted in her receiving a life sentence without the possibility of parole in 2011.
She murdered her lover Robert Thomas six times before being engaged in the collar bomb bank case, but she was exonerated on the grounds of self-defense. She was married to a man after Thomas, whose name has not been made public, and it is thought that she also murdered him.
The family of Diehl Armstrong said that she had a close relationship with her father and had battled mental illness for a while. The killer battled many illnesses while she was inside and was on the verge of death. She passed away from breast cancer at the age of 68, and the other three killers all passed away in prison.
Diabetes caused Kenneth Barnes’ death in 2019 at the age of 64. The year 2004 saw the passing of William Ansel “Bill” Rothstein, who had non-Hodgkin lymphoma. At the age of 74, Floyd Arthur “Jay” Stockton Jr. passed away. It was determined that his death was the result of an accident.
Pizza Bomber Case on Netflix: Evil Genius
2018 saw the publication of a documentary about the Pizza Bomber case. Based on the real account of Brian Wells’s murder, “Evil Genius: the True Story of America’s Most Diabolical Bank Heist” is a true crime series.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the series has an 80% approval rating and an average rating of 6.45/10. People had conflicting opinions about it; although half of them thought it was excellent, many did not like the notion of the series. Trey Borzillieri got the notion to write a book series after being fascinated by the Brian Wells murder.
In 2005, Borzillieri began questioning locals in Erie, Pennsylvania, the scene of the crime, and he also started communicating with Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong because she could know the case.
Years were spent him looking into the case, and he spoke with Diehl-Armstrong when she was incarcerated. The name of the show, Evil Genius, alludes to Diehl-Armstrong’s exceptional brilliance before developing mental illness.
