Burzis Kanga was previously married to Hoda Cotb (2005 – 2007). Hoda is of Egyptian heritage, however, she was born in Norman, Oklahoma, on August 9, 1964. After graduating from Virginia Tech in 1985, she began her career as a reporter and anchor for numerous local television stations. In 2008, she co-hosted the fourth hour of “The Today Show” with Kathie Lee Gilford, although she rose to notoriety as a correspondent for “Dateline NBC,” a post she has held for the past two decades. She eventually became the show’s third co-anchor before becoming the official co-host, becoming the show’s first female tandem. She has an Emmy Award for her work and a best-selling autobiography in the New York Times.
Hoda continued to write books, and in 2013 she published “Ten Years Later: Six People Who Overcame Adversity and Transformed Their Lives.” Three years later, her third book, “The Best Decisions People Almost Never Made,” was released, and it contains the stories of numerous amazing people. “I’ve Loved You Since Forever,” her most recent novel, was released in 2018, and the title was translated into a song by Kelly Clarkson.
