Greer was born in Houston, Texas on October 19, 1976. His full name is Edward Breaux Greer, but he is more commonly known as Breaux Greer. Greer’s parents relocated from Texas to Monroe, Louisiana when he was much younger. He had spent the majority of his childhood there.
He attended high school in Louisiana at Ouachita Parish. In 1994, Greer graduated from high school, joined the University of Louisiana, and passed out in 1999. Despite this, Greer had already established himself as an athlete before attending university. He did, however, begin competing in Championships as a Javelin thrower in 1995.
