Carles Puigdemont Casamajó is a prominent Spanish statesman and politician who served as the country’s president from 2016 to 2017. On December 29, 1962, Puigdemont was born in Amer, north-eastern Catalonia, Spain. At the tender of 16, he commenced his career as a correspondent for the Diari de Girona newspaper, where he covered a variety of topics including football.
After the unilateral proclamation of independence by Catalonia, he was removed from his presidency by the Spanish government. Carles Puigdemont was born to Xavier Puigdemont and Nria Casamajó as the second of eight children. Since 1927, when his grandfather founded it, his parents have operated a renowned confectionary shop in the community. They were married twice, in the year 2000, when she received her college diploma, two years after their initial encounter.

The second was an orthodox ceremony held in the Maramures monastery in her birthplace. Furthermore, at the Audiencia Nacional in October 2017, Spanish Attorney General José Manuel Maza indicted Puigdemont and other members of the Catalan government on charges of rebellion, sedition, and corruption of public finances. Alghero Airport Italian police apprehended Puigdemont shortly after he disembarked from his Brussels-bound flight. As requested by the Italian prosecutor, he was released without any precautionary measures at a court hearing the day after his incarceration.
