Carley Shimkus, a Fox News anchor, and her husband Peter Buchignani recently welcomed their first child.
Shimkus announced the news on Instagram with a video from Shot of the Morning. The caption for the post read:
“Good day, Brock. Hello and welcome to the world. You’ve opened a door in our hearts that we had no idea existed. We both adore you, your father and I! @foxandfriends, thank you for the standing ovation! It’s possible I won’t be able to come back on Monday. But I’ll see you all again soon.”
Todd Prio and Ashley Strohmier, the show’s hosts, also expressed their delight in the video as they broke the news. Carley’s child would be raised by the entire Fox and Friends family, according to Prio.
According to Strohmier, the baby’s name is Brock Edward, and he weighed 7 pounds and 1 ounce when he was born. Shimkus confirmed her pregnancy during an appearance on Fox & Friends in August 2022:
“I’m going to have a baby!” This excites me enormously. I can’t wait to see Pete, my husband, with the baby. He’s going to be the best father ever! … Many changes have occurred, the majority of which have been positive.”
Peter Buchignani graduated from Princeton University.
Peter Buchignani, born on September 21, 1986, has two siblings and has lived and worked in Chicago since 2015. According to his LinkedIn and Facebook profiles, he has spent the majority of his life in Illinois.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Princeton University. He used to play football and was twice named All-Ivy. He also played tight end and defensive end at the collegiate level, as well as basketball in high school. He chose a business career and began working as a sales analyst at Barclays Capital.
He was there from 2009 to 2011, after which he moved on to Deutsche Bank. In 2015, Peter started working at Amherst Pierpoint Securities in the business development department, selling securitized products.
He is a huge Michigan Wolverines fan. Carley Shimkus and Peter Buchignani first met in 2011 at the latter’s birthday party. Their friendship blossomed into a loving partnership in 2013, and they married in 2015.
