Other television appearances include Lou Grant (1979), The White Shadow (1978), Roots: The Next Generations (1979), Flamingo Road (1981), Hill Street Blues (1982), and St. Elsewhere (1982), and many more. He gained his breakthrough as Mac Robinson in the American television series Night Court, opposite Harry Anderson, Richard Moll, Marsha Warfield, Ellen Foley, and others.
