Tyneka Johnson, a 22-year-old from Portsmouth, and Randall “Randy” Belvins, a 70-year-old from Chesapeake, were both fatalities.
As they processed the awful news, the victims’ friends and family turned to their memories.
Tyneka Johnson was a student at Western Branch High School for two years, and Casheba Cannon recalled her as a young girl with aspirations of going to college.
Cannon discussed how, with the help of a loving family, she was prepared to struggle through her academic shortcomings in order to improve herself.
Tyreka was also a fashionista during the weekly meetings, showing off her cheery demeanor, love of music, and manicured nails in addition to her perfectly coiffed hair and nails. She was really hospitable, according to Cannon.
On the other side, Randy Blevins was a seasoned employee who handled pricing and inventory management.
Former coworker Shaundrayia Reese, who was employed by the business from 2015 to 2018, lovingly referred to Blevins as “Mr. Randy.”
Five of the six victims of the attack, including Lorenzo Gamble, 43, Brian Pendleton, 38, and Kellie Pyle, 52, have been identified. In a news release on Wednesday, the City of Chesapeake disclosed the names.
The last victim, a lad aged 16, is not identified because he was a minor. Five or six of the fatalities were Walmart employees, according to a company representative. They refused to clarify whether the teen was employed there as well.

Over the weekend, a second 22-year-old reportedly opened fire in a Colorado Springs LGBTQ pub, killing five people and injured 19.
