Son of Linda Gamble and Alonzo Gamble, Lorenzo Antron Gamble was a 43-year-old guy.
Lorenzo was in charge of the banana pudding cake and banana pudding at his mother’s request. Linda and Lorenzo had been organizing Thanksgiving dinner.
A sizable extended family made up Lorenzo’s family. Every once in a while, everyone was expected to gather for meals and family games, Linda remarked.
She prompted Lorenzo to bake enough treats for everyone. Their Chesapeake House would be crowded on a holiday with 16 grandchildren.
Sadly, when she learned that Lorenzo, who worked the nighttime shift at Walmart, had passed away, everything changed in a matter of minutes.
Lorenzo, a 15-year employee at the company, cherished spending time with his two sons, ages 10 and 19.
However, Josh Johnson, a fellow member, described maintenance worker Brian Pendleton, 38, as an older brother who was always modest and diligent.
Chesapeake Walmart Shooting: What Happened?
Five of the six fatalities in the Virginia Walmart shooting have been identified. They perished on Tuesday night (November 22), when the store manager shot himself in the head.
The five fatalities are identified in a news release issued by the City of Chesapeake on Wednesday as Kellie Pyle, Randall Blevins, Tyneka Johnson, Lorenzo Gamble, and Brian Pendleton.
The final victim, a 16-year-old boy, is not being identified by the authorities since he was a juvenile. Walmart employees made up five or six of the casualties, according to a company representative.
Andre Bing, 31, who the city has named as the shooter, was “equipped with one handgun and had many magazines,” the statement from earlier on Wednesday said.
The business acknowledged that Andre Bing had worked for Walmart since 2010 and was an “overnight team lead.”
Authorities are continuing their investigation and looking into the shooter’s past to learn what might have prompted the act.
The mayor of Chesapeake, Rick West, promised that additional information would be provided in a video message that was posted Wednesday night. “Law enforcement will do what they can, and I promise you, more information will follow,” West said.
Everyone has been asked to pray for the family and friends of the community members who have passed away, according to the authorities.
According to a news release, “The City of Chesapeake has always been known as the ‘City That Cares,’ and we need it now more than ever.”
Recent Spike In Mass Shootings In Chesapeake
Another large-scale shooting has occurred recently in a typically safe Virginia city, this time at the Walmart store.
A 22-year-old student is accused of opening fire on other students earlier this month at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, which is barely 170 miles west of Chesapeake. He was charged with the murder of three kids who had just returned from a field trip in Washington, DC.
Another 22-year-old shot at an LGBTQ bar in Colorado Springs over the weekend, killing five people and injuring 19.
According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have been more than 600 mass shootings in the United States thus far this year. The term “mass shooting” refers to incidents in which four or more individuals, excluding the attacker, are shot.
