How did Chez Starbuck start his Professional Career?

Chez had a childhood interest in the performing arts and worked as a child anchor for Channel 8 in Las Vegas. His mother, who was also his agent at the time, drove him to Los Angeles so he could try out for the television movie “The Thirteenth Year.”

He knew that once he found out the movie’s plot, his friends would make fun of him and that he would turn into a merman on screen. Although he didn’t think his audition went well the first time, he read his lines again and was shown to a Hollywood Hills estate by the casting directors, where he showed off his swimming skills.

Due to his prior swimming experience and acting prowess, Chez was chosen for the role of Cody. The movie received positive and divided reviews, and despite Chez’s mediocre performance, he was nevertheless well-liked by the audience.

Early in the new millennium, Chez turned his focus away from show business in favor of other interests.
Since 2001, he has only made two more appearances: as Jason Barrett in the television film “Recipe for Disaster” (2003), which starred Melissa Peterman, Lesley Ann Warren, and John Larroquette; and in the independent short film “The Long and the Short” (2016), which also starred Mark Asphenleiter and Les Best.

But he’s also done some independent work, like this pop art piece. Chez has found a new passion: he owns CustomLivingofAustin, a business that improves storage and organization and makes easy-access shelving for those with mobility challenges in the kitchen, bathroom, and other rooms. The business was founded in 2012 and is currently headquartered in Austin, Texas.
