Singer Choi Sung-bong was well-known in South Korea from 1990 until 2023. Sadly, Choi Sung-bong committed suicide in June 2023 at the age of 33.
In 2011, Bong rose to fame for his outstanding performance of “Nella Fantasia” by Ennio Morricone on the reality TV program “Korea’s Got Talent.”

Choi Sung Bong’s sexual orientation has always been referred to as heterosexual throughout his career, not as gay.
He wasn’t listed as married, thus he was presumably unmarried. In any interview or post on his social media accounts, Choi has never mentioned having a wife.
He had a depressing childhood as a youngster. He was abandoned when he was just three years old and placed in a Seoul orphanage, where he suffered physical abuse.
At the age of 5, he left the orphanage in search of safety from the abuse and found it in Daejeon’s red-light districts.

The Korea Times reports that on Tuesday at 9:41 a.m., officials found him at his home in Seoul’s Yeoksam-dong district.
This comes two years after he drew ire for inventing a cancer diagnosis and asking for money from admirers.
Variety reports that Choi Sung-bong released a video and a letter on YouTube on June 19, one day before he passed away.
He expressed his thanks and admiration for all the individuals who had paid him care and loved him from 2011 to the present in the video.
He said that he had tried for the last ten years to live a regular life, but in the end, he apologized for his bad conduct.
