After a year-long consideration, Chorong, an Apink member, has decided not to file a lawsuit against a childhood acquaintance who accused her of engaging in violence in high school.
The matter has drawn a lot of attention, but it appears to have been resolved amicably between the two parties.
The agency for the idol, IST Entertainment, declared in April 2021 that they would take legal action against Kim, Chorong’s “friend.”
The statement from the agency claims that Kim allegedly phoned the Apink member and threatened to reveal allegedly false tales of high school violence. The agency subsequently asserted that the “friend’s” goal was to coerce Chorong into quitting his job as an entertainer.
Soon after the incident, on April 1, Apink’s organization via Wonil Law Firm filed a first criminal complaint against Kim at Gangnam Police Station for defamation by alleging false information and attempted coercion.
In a November 2021 update on the court case, IST Entertainment stated that “Kim” had been found guilty on counts of making threats and spreading false information and that the case had been forwarded to the prosecution. The legal battle appears to have ended once the two misunderstandings were resolved.
On March 28, Chorong’s agency officially announced that the protracted legal dispute had come to an end. The agency said in the beginning that all parties had made the decision to end their respective legal proceedings.

They continued by claiming that the Apink member and her friend had a private conversation that cleared up any misunderstandings.
The two people recently got together alone, without anybody else there, and spent quality time sharing stories with one another.
The two had a very direct conversation about their frustrations and terrible feelings for one another during their encounter, which was their first in 13 years.
“After a thorough discussion, the two resolved all of their misunderstandings for one another and made the difficult decision to put an end to all of their arguments and war of attrition. In addition, they would drop every lawsuit they had brought against one another and resume their regular lives.
The agency concluded by expressing regret to Apink and the idol’s supporters for the lengthy period of miscommunication and legal fighting and pleading for their support. A day after Eunji and Hayoung tested positive for the virus, the Apink members Chorong, Bomi, and Namjoo also did.
