Chris McCallum Murder Update 2023
At the Applegate campground four years ago, Patricia MacCallum killed her husband, Chris MacCallum. Snapped on Oxygen will feature her murder. After Christopher MacCallum passed out in his tent, Patricia MacCallum and her ex-stepsister Amber Lubbers are charged with his murder. When the missing man’s body was eventually found, the two women were charged with his murder. At the campground at Applegate Creek, a body was discovered at the base of a cliff.
The man was found inside his sleeping bag, having been shot multiple times. Chris MacCallum, a guy from Medford, Oregon, was subsequently recognized as the body, according to MTShasta News. The victim’s wife, Patricia MacCallum, reportedly told authorities that her husband vanished while on a camping trip, according to Snapped.
The motive for his death and the identities of any previous enemies who could have wanted him dead eluded the police. Detectives looked into his marriage to his wife in light of this. The marriage did not, however, end happily. Investigators learned that Patricia MacCallum, Chris MacCallum’s wife, had packed up her things and moved out of the house because of marital problems.
Authorities painted a picture of a depraved woman who, along with Amber, got her husband wasted and planned his murder inside the tent while he slept. After that, Patricia grabbed the handgun from the car and repeatedly shot her children’s father. After tossing the body down a cliff, Patricia left the area and headed back to Medford. Chris was, by all accounts, a wonderful father to his kids and a family man at heart. He put out great effort to get them back because he was heartbroken by their loss.
Where Is Patricia MacCallum Now?
The trial of Patricia MacCallum, 26, who is accused of first-degree murder, is scheduled to start on August 1. Patricia, a Medford resident, was given a 50-year to life term on Tuesday for killing her husband Chris. Following a two-week trial, Patricia was found guilty in 2013 of shooting Chris to death in Siskiyou County.
Her former stepsister Amber Lubbers testified that while on a camping holiday, she and Patricia planned to murder Chris. His remains was found in the Applegate recreation area in 2012, near the bottom of a cliff. He’d taken multiple gunshot wounds. The families of Patricia and Chris were both in court on Tuesday. Chris’s father, Mike, and several family members read letters to the judge.
While reading his letter, Mike asked the judge to sentence Patricia to life in prison on the family’s behalf. Patricia also spoke in court, accusing Amber Lubbers of misleading everyone by saying she didn’t kill her husband. She went so far as to call herself a victim of the offense.
In order to face murder charges, MacCallum and Lubbers are currently being held at the Jackson County Jail and will soon be transferred to Siskiyou County. MacCallum’s sister Tricia is presently looking after his two tiny children, but his mother Sarah Ramirez has set up a trust fund account for them.
