The current state of Chris Redd’s health and other details

After being attacked outside Comedy Cellar, Chris Redd was transported to the hospital, but he was later released. He was freed, thus it appears that his injuries weren’t life-threatening.

Redd was confronted by two people who were both wearing brass knuckles after exiting his car. TMZ claims that Redd needed stitches after suffering injuries to his eyes and nose. Both individuals had masks concealing their faces and were wearing security guard uniforms.

One of the men approached Chris first and attacked him, while the other man stood on the other side of the street and observed the entire incident. Even though Redd was unable to identify any of his attackers, police officials have already received security footage from which they hope to identify and arrest the offenders.

Witnesses said that the attackers seized Redd’s Greg Yuna chain, however, it broke while they were walking down the street. Although it appears that robbery was the act’s driving force, confirmation is still awaited.

Since joining the cast of Saturday Night Live in 2017, Chris Redd has won a Primetime Emmy Award for his work on the show. He started out rapping before transitioning to sketch comedy and signing up for comedy classes at the Chicago-based comedy club Jokes & Notes. Later, he moved to Los Angeles and joined The Second City to pursue an acting career.

Redd can be seen in the 2017 Netflix series Disjointed as well as the 2016 mockumentary Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. He joined Saturday Night Live the following year and did impressions of stars like Kanye West, Sterling K. Brown, and U.S. Senator Cory Booker. The 37-year-old stand-up comedian’s comedy CD, But Here We Are, was released in March 2019.

He then starred in the comedy series Kenan, and his upcoming film appearance is in the biographical drama Spinning Gold. He had a role as a grumbling casino employee in the comedy series Bust Down before going on to star in a stand-up comedy special for HBO Max.
