In the dystopian American television series The Handmaid’s Tale, which takes place during the Second American Civil War, the US government is overthrown by the Republic of Gilead, a totalitarian society that enslaves its fertile women to bear children.
The series explores the issue of oppressed women in patriarchal countries and their struggle for escape from servitude, much like its forerunners. Ko will play Lily, a former Martha who is now a leader in the Canada-based resistance organization.

Actress Christin Ko was from Taiwan
Lily will be portrayed by Taiwanese-American actress Christine Ko in the critically acclaimed fifth season of The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu. Ko is well-known for her roles in a number of TV shows, including Upload, The Great Indoors, and Dave.
Before beginning a career in America, Ko briefly worked as an actress in Taiwan. She was born in Chicago and is the daughter of the late Taiwanese performer Frankie Kao. Ko, on the other hand, was raised by her uncle and aunt in Georgia.
I found it difficult because I had to speak Mandarin. Despite the fact that I spoke Mandarin at home, I had to start from fresh learning the language.
In search of greater prospects, Ko moved back to the United States and settled in Los Angeles. She was forced to adopt an Asian accent for her auditions, which she found challenging given that she was raised in the United States.
Ko became well-known in 2016 after making an appearance and later a regular on the CBS sitcom The Great Indoors. She additionally made guest appearances in the TV shows Ballers on HBO and Only Murders in the Building on Hulu.
She also made a contribution to the upcoming Tigertail Netflix original film. In 2021, Ko made an appearance in the Hold On music video by Justin Bieber.
All About The Handmaid’s Tale’s Fifth Season
The first two episodes of Season 5 of the program will premiere on Hulu on September 14; the remaining episodes will air weekly after that.
In the following season, which will center on the effects of Commander Waterford’s murder in June’s life, Serena Waterford plans her vengeance for her husband’s passing. The focus of the program will be on Gilead’s rising influence in Canada as Luke and Moira try to bring him down.

For her role as June alias Offred in the television series, Moss won a Primetime Emmy and a Golden Globe.
