Christopher John Worrell, a 52-year-old member of the far-right extremist group “Proud Boys,” was born on June 26, 1971.

The leaders of the group were found guilty of using violence to oppose both the US government and the legally mandated transfers of power.
Worrell belonged to this militant group and took part in the Capitol uprising on January 6.
After that, he was the center of attention at a Justice for J6 demonstration in 2021.
Protesters claimed that while Worrell was awaiting trial for charges connected to the Capitol attack, he was not getting proper treatment for his non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in jail.
A judge upheld a civil rights case alleging that the D.C. Department of Corrections neglected to grant timely access to Worrell’s records, despite the agency’s denial of any problems with his care.

Arrest and Charge of Christopher Worrell
After being placed under house arrest in November 2021 and then freed, Christopher Worrell caused a national FBI investigation when he did not show up for his August 2023 sentence for assault convictions related to the Capitol disturbances on January 6.
For six weeks, investigators looked for the missing Proud Boys member in different parts of the nation after the issuance of an arrest order.
On September 28, 2023, Worrell was apprehended by the authorities following the issuance of many warrants and subpoenas in response to tips on his whereabouts.
The Justice Department expressed disapproval over the heavy investment of funds in the hunt for Worrell, who had been flagrantly flouting the terms of his house detention.
After his conviction, eluding authorities resulted in more legal ramifications for him escaping law enforcement.
In the end, on January 4, 2024, a federal judge sentenced Worrell to ten years in prison for assaults against law enforcement during the attempted takeover of the U.S. Capitol by radical right-wing extremist groups.
