Chuck Love, a Former Associate Head Coach at Nebraska, Is Accused of Misconduct.

In response to allegations of misbehavior, Ashley Scoggin, a basketball player for Nebraska from 2020 to 2022, has launched a civil lawsuit against Chuck Love, the former associate head coach. She claims that Chuck Love, the former associate head coach at Nebraska, used his influence and status to entice her to have a sexual connection.

Love, head coach Amy Williams, athletic director Trev Alberts, and the Nebraska School of Regents are all named as defendants in the complaint, which was filed on Sunday. Scoggin is requesting particular damages for what she believes to be a civil rights violation. Nebraska acknowledged receiving notice of the complaint but refuted the accusations and stated that it would vigorously defend itself.

The UNLV player Scoggin charges Williams and Alberts of failing to establish proper boundaries between players and coaching staff. Love, who was doing an academic internship in the sports department, allegedly started messaging Scoggin late at night and asking her out for drinks.

The complaint claims that Love gave Scoggin the idea that he had the power to “make or break her” in terms of her career and role on the team. During a road game, Scoggin further claims that Love contacted her for sex in his hotel room. She believed the team was giving her less playing time after she refused to participate in a group sex session with Love and an unidentified second male.

In February 2022, according to the complaint, team members allegedly caught and recorded Scoggin in Love’s hotel room. Additionally, at a team meeting, Williams pushed for team members to look into Scoggin, leading to her final suspension. Love remained on paid leave despite the incident until his departure on May 13, 2022.
