The Half Moon Bay Shootings, which left seven people dead and one gravely injured, were a terrible tragedy for the residents of the area.

The suspect was identified by the authorities as Zhao Chunli, 67, of Half Moon Bay.
According to the sheriff’s office, he was peacefully taken into custody at roughly 4:40 pm in the parking lot of the sheriff’s office substation in Half Moon Bay. He had a semi-automatic rifle in his car.
Chunli Zhao is said to have a husband and resides in Half Moon Bay, according to Corpus.
More than two hours after the shooting, he was found in the parking area of the Half Moon Bay Substation. When a deputy noticed his maroon SUV in the substation’s parking lot, police started searching for it.
Sheriff Christina Corpus of San Mateo County claims that investigators believe Chunli Zhao acted alone. There was no clear indication of the motive behind the gun spree.
On the outskirts of the city, two agricultural complexes were the scene of the gunshots. Chunli Zhao is believed to have worked at one of the firms, according to Corpus.
Dave Pine, president of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, referred to him as a “disgruntled worker.”
Authorities said they don’t know what provoked the shootings. Sheriff Christina Corpus, however, revealed that the suspect is believed to have worked at one of the nursery farm locations at a press conference on Thursday evening.

The Sheriff’s Office of San Mateo County is receiving support from the San Francisco FBI in the form of forensic and investigative resources. The primary investigating organization is reportedly the Sheriff’s Office.
According to ABC7, the Holy Family Children’s Center was put on lockdown at 3:20 p.m.
President Biden has received a briefing on the shootings, according to Karine Jean-Pierre, the press secretary for the White House.
Chunli Zhao asked the federal police to support local authorities as required. The President would be informed as soon as fresh information became available, according to Jean-Pierre.
Chunli Zhao’s car had a firearm, according to the sheriff’s office. They stated that he is thought to have acted alone and that the neighborhood is no longer under danger.
“This is a heartbreaking tragedy for this town and the many families affected by this heinous act of violence,” said Christina Corpus, sheriff of San Mateo County.
