Cleidiane Santos dos Santos, age 27, gave birth to her son Angerson on January 18 at the Hospital Padre Colombo in Parintins, Amazonas State, according to the Brazilian publication O Globo. The 2-foot-long infant was delivered via C-section.
Dr. Artemisia Pessoa, an OBGYN at Hospital Padre Colombo, reports that Anderson is being monitored in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Santos did not anticipate delivering immediately. She stated that she had gone to the hospital for her regular obstetric exam.

According to the Daily Mail, medical authorities immediately determined that the fetus would be too large for the mother to carry to term, so a C-section was performed the following day and Angerson was born.
Pessoa told O Globo that the baby’s girth made it an “unusual” and “risky” circumstance. “We are just feeling joy, happiness, and gratitude for everything working out in this case,” she said.
Most full-term neonates (39 to 40 weeks gestation) weigh between 6 and 9 pounds, according to the American Pregnancy Association.
While speaking with O Globo, Dos Santos commended her medical staff for the care she and Angerson are receiving.
