A new season of Top Chef will debut on Bravo the following month. One of the 15 aspiring chefs traveling to Houston, Texas to compete in the program is Damarr Brown from Chicago, Illinois. Brown has experience working in some incredible kitchens and is prepared to impress the panel of judges. He currently serves as the Chef de Cuisine (Head Chef) at the Virtue restaurant in Chicago.
Along with being a culinary prodigy, Damarr also runs a clothes business. Say It How You Feel It, an online retailer of apparel, was co-founded by him.
The company offers hoodies and T-shirts with quotes on them. One of its distinguishing characteristics is that everything in this range is black. The business was created by Lisa, a pastry chef, and Brown. Their company description reads as follows:
By expressing our feelings, Chicago Born Apparel is promoting community.

Brown developed a passion for cooking at a young age. His mother, who used to buy him a lot of cookbooks, helped him develop the skill while they were cooking together. In addition to encouraging him, Brown’s grandmother spent time in the kitchen with him.
He took Julia Child and Emeril Lagasse as his culinary role models. After gaining culinary knowledge at Le Cordon Bleu College, Brown worked in a variety of kitchens, including those at the Capital Grille, MK, and Roister, a Michelin-starred restaurant.
In the end, he founded Virtue Restaurant with his mentor Eric Williams, which Esquire named one of America’s Best New Restaurants in 2019.
Virtue’s bio appears on the website as follows:
“Damarr Brown likes to eat at restaurants both locally and abroad because he believes in the idea of community.” He enjoys researching the history of music and is constantly looking for new or discarded styles and methods.
