On June 6, 2022, Corey Aughey went suddenly. His family referred to him as their “true angel” after his untimely passing. On the first day of his family’s vacation in Majorca, the small youngster slipped into the pool.
After the event, Aughey spent three days in critical care on life support before passing away. The deceased person’s obituary creates a picture of a life filled with love and supported by loving family members.
He is referred as in the notice as the “cherished brother” of Jay, Darci, and Joel as well as the “much-loved son” of Leanne and Colin.
In honor of Corey, Aughey’s parents have now established a nonprofit. On April 30, the family will participate in the Belfast Marathon in support of the Corey Aughey Foundation.
The Corey Aughey Foundation is a commendable effort that was started with the intention of giving kids the chance to learn to swim while also making a positive impact on society.
The foundation seeks to have a significant effect by raising money to help vital organizations including the Children’s Hospice and the Air Ambulance NI.
Corey Aughey Perished in a Swimming Pool
When he died, Corey Aughey was just six years old. He was brought to the hospital after he fell into the pool in Majorca.
Emergency personnel rescued Aughey alongside the pool, but despite receiving 30 minutes of CPR, he died in a Spanish hospital while still in severe condition.
Aughey’s family organized a fundraiser after his death with the goal of raising $29,682 but only ended up with $25,256.
Additionally, it’s important to remember that Aughey played a key part as a scout for the Immanuel Church of Ireland in Ardoyne’s 45th Belfast Scout Group.
Corey Aughey Foundation, What Is It?
Following Aughey’s demise, the Corey Aughey Foundation was established. Presently, the foundation is also arranging a few events, and future events may be organized as well.
The Corey Aughey Foundation’s main goals are varied, with a focus on encouraging youth water safety knowledge and giving them access to swimming instruction.
The organization also wants to provide adult CPR instruction, hand out defibrillators in the neighborhood, and aid in the running of air ambulance services. The foundation works to foster a safer and healthier neighborhood for everyone via several activities.
