Jeremy Clements was born on January 16, 1985, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The NASCAR driver is descended from a racing family with deep origins. His grandpa is Crawford Clements, a well-known NASCAR owner and engine maker. Crawford, his grandfather, was A.J. Foyt’s crew chief in 1964, when Foyt won the July 4 race at Daytona.
Crawford introduced Jeremy to racing, but he died at the age of 12 from cancer. Jeremy’s uncle, Louis Clements, was a Championship Crew Chief with Rex White. They worked together on engine development projects and racing vehicle ownership for approximately 25 years. Jeremy’s father, Tony Clements, also owns the Jeremy Clements Racing Team, for which he races. Tony is the owner of Clements Automotive, which Crawford established in 1965.
