Cynthia Erivo Husband | Is She Married To Mario Martinez | Relationship Timeline

Cynthia Erivo

Cynthia Erivo’s Husband, a two-time Oscar nominee, has sparked viewers’ interest. In 2015, the actress and vocalist from London made her Broadway debut in Oprah Winfrey’s The Color Purple.

Erivo charmed audiences and received standing ovations night after night as Celie, a role she reprised for a limited worldwide run of the show in 2013. Her performance was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 2016, while the production was nominated for Best Revival of a Musical the same night.

She and the show’s performers won a Daytime Emmy for a performance on The Today Show in 2017 and a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album. Erivo portrayed Harriet Tubman in the 2019 film Harriet, for which she received two Golden Globe nominations in 2020. Her second prize was for Best Original Song for the musical “Stand Up,” which she penned.

Cynthia Erivo Relationship with Mario Martinez

Cynthia is not yet married, so Mario Martinez cannot be considered Cynthia Erivo’s spouse, although they have a deep bond. When she was dating actor Dean John-Wilson, she met Mario. They started dating in 2013. In 2016, she was spotted on the red carpet with him as he was performing as Prince Ali in the West End production of Aladdin.

So, she had been dating Dean for around three years before meeting Mario. Despite the fact that Mario was not another actor, they both worked in the same industry and saw each other frequently. She admitted to Vanity Fair in 2019 that Mario pursued Cynthia despite the fact that she was already dating Dean.

He eventually struck gold and made his big move soon after she and Dean broke up. Mario simply approached her and kissed her after they had separated. That was their first meeting. They had been dating for two years when the story was published in 2019. This indicates that they began dating in 2017.

They even appeared to be in love while attending the Krug Event in Miami. Cynthia is quite discreet about her romantic life. She did, however, devote many special stories to him in 2019. One of them was a Valentine’s Day monochrome post in which she professed her love for him. She also sent him a wonderful birthday message.

She took down those posts at the end of 2019, leading some to believe they were no longer together. There is no definitive evidence, though, and the two may still be happy together. She fans can only hope that she will marry soon and that we will get to meet her husband.

Cynthia Erivo’s Career Began

Cynthia Erivo, born in London to Nigerian immigrants in 1987, began performing on stage at the age of 11 and went on to have tremendous success, starring as Juliet in the Young Vic youth version of “Romeo & Juliet” at the age of 15 and appearing in different advertisements.

She planned to study in music psychology in college, but a chance meeting with her Young Vic director persuaded her to stay and train at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. In 2011, she played Deloris Van Cartier in the UK tour of “Sister Act,” a musical based on Whoopi Goldberg’s 1992 film.

Despite common assumptions, Erivo played Celie Harris in the 2013 London production of “The Color Purple,” a role established by Goldberg for the 1985 film adaptation. Erivo was the only member of the British cast to transfer to Broadway in 2015, when she played the same part as Jennifer Hudson.

She landed a recurring part in the historical drama “Mister. Selfridge” (PBS/ITV, 2013-) after making her theatrical debut. Her breakout roles include “Bad Times at the El Royale” (2018) and “Widows” (2018), a collaboration between Steve McQueen and Gillian Flynn.
