Native American Dale Culver passed away in 2017 while being restrained by cops.
The assault took place in Prince George’s 1000 block of Central Street West, according to Independent Investigation officials.
Authorities were called to a guy who was attempting to pursue parked cars at about 10:30 p.m.
When a police officer asked Culver a question, the police watchdog said that he attempted to run away.
Five Royal Canadian Mounted Police attempted to arrest the 35-year-old as soon as they got on the scene.
Officers pepper sprayed Culver in the face during the struggle, causing him to have breathing problems.
When the policemen requested emergency medical help, the 35-year-old was detained inside the police vehicle.
Emergency Health Services quickly arrived and attempted to revive Culver, but they were unable. Moments afterward, he was declared dead.
The arrest’s first stages were captured on cellphone footage when many cops could be seen pinning a man down.
The suspect was afterward observed being restrained to the pavement by a single police officer.
According to Alicia Wisla, Culver lived on the streets and was frequently in and out of jail.
She emphasized, nevertheless, that he was making positive changes in his life and was a wonderful father.

Five Prince George Mounties have finally been charged with crimes following the murder of an indigenous man, Dale Culver, while he was being held by the police six years prior.
The two cops charged with manslaughter are Cst. Paul Ste-Marie and Cst. Jean Francois Monette, out of the five officers.
Following the event, the other three were charged with attempting to obstruct justice.
The three policemen are identified as Cst. Arthur Dalman, Cst. Clarence Alexander MacDonald, and Sgt. Bayani Eusebio Cruz.
The case’s five RCMP officers are due to make their initial court appearances on March 14, 2023, in Prince George Provincial Court.
While MacDonald was on administrative leave for reasons unrelated to the event, four of the five cops are still working.
The length of time it took to prosecute the five cops for their actions has drawn criticism.
However, it appears like justice will be done now that they have been charged.
