Despite what some have suggested, Damian Lewis is not a Muslim. Lewis joined Christian Aid in 2010 as a trade justice advocate. While a 16-year-old student at Eton College, he decided to pursue an acting career and was permitted to launch his theatrical company there. In 1993, he obtained his degree in London, joined the Royal Shakespeare Company, and afterward performed there.

Lewis was born in St. John’s Wood, London, the elder child of Charlotte Mary and John Watcyn Lewis, an insurance broker in the City. Damian Lewis’ mother, Charlotte Mary Lewis, was born on July 17, 1937. Three days after her son turned 30, Charlotte was killed in a vehicle accident in 2001 while visiting the Taj Mahal in India with her husband of 30 years.
She taught her kids to be considerate and courteous. Lewis adds that because of his mother’s premature passing, she was unable to meet his lovely wife and have the opportunity to become a grandmother to his children. Lewis’ one significant cause of grief is this.
Watcyn Lewis, Damian’s father, is a local insurance salesman who had two biological boys with Charlotte. After that, he adopted the other two kids she had from a previous union with another agent and brought them up as his own.
