On October 21, 1970, Damon was born in Longview, Texas. On the other hand, he was raised with two brothers in South Central Los Angeles and Carson, California.
Laura Francis, née Smith, his mother, was a special education teacher in the Los Angeles school system. Francis raised Damon and his siblings while attending college and obtaining two master’s degrees.
In 1988, Damon Whitaker accompanied his brother Forest Whitaker.
Forest E. Whitaker Jr., Damon’s father, worked as an insurance salesperson. In primary school, Damon and his siblings moved with their parents to Carson, California, where they currently reside.
