After Franco Harris’s passing, fans are interested in learning more about Dana Dokmanovich’s parents and extended relatives.
The Pittsburgh Steelers performed a solemn ceremony at halftime of their game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday night to honor Franco Harris, a Hall of Fame running back who had his number 32 retired.
The long-awaited acknowledgment came three days after Harris’s passing at age 72, one day after the 50th anniversary of “The Immaculate Reception,” which Harris executed in a playoff victory over the Raiders.
As Harris’ widow, Dana Dokmanovich Harris, and their son, Dok Harris, joined Steelers president Art Rooney II on stage, many of his former teammates, coaches, and adversaries-turned-friends watched from the sidelines.

Franco was conceived by an Italian mother and a Black father. His ardent supporters founded an organization called as “Franco’s Italian Army” due to his Italian ancestry.
His ethnicity is American, and the publication claims that a vocal ethnic community backed him. Even though it is uncertain what religion Franco belongs to, the title of his well-known play, which had its premiere on December 23, 1972, happens to utilize biblical terminology.
Franco was born to father Cad Harris and mother Gina Parenti Harris on March 7, 1950.
His father, Cad, served as a Black soldier in World War II. His future wife Gina, an Italian native who served as a “war bride” and subsequently came to the United States with Cad, was introduced to him while he was stationed in Italy during the conflict.
Daniela, Mario, Franco, Marisa, Alvara, Luana, Piero, Giuseppe, and Michele were the names of the couple’s last nine children. Gina died on July 15, 1984, and Cad passed away on July 17, 1980, at the age of 60.
